Very nice written and I like how you put pictures in there. Learning how to say No if we really need to say No is one of the difficult lesson we business people should learn. There are many people who failed their businesses trying to please everybody.

Zeke, this is just another one of many thoughtful and insightful articles that you have written that cut to the heart of the matter. You have done a very good job of boiling it down to the essence of the matter and have given a great core breakdown of the most important points. Thanks again and you have also been doing a fabulous job on your webinars too! Thanks, Phil

PS - Just started reading Now Discover your Strengths, good read so far!

I agree that #3 is especially important, particularly for creative people. We need feedback and advice, but most often people´s comments are a projection of their own personality and nothing to do with our project. Choose to listen only to people who can be constructive, who can compliment as well as criticise and can phrase their words in a non-arrogant way: "I think", "in my experience" and who remain open minded and not dogmatic.

You summarized it well, David. Item #3 is especially important; it's not what you think or what you know but what you do with what you think and what you know.

Great post, Zeke. I think that we could summarize your notes by saying that these three things determine your success:
1) who you associate with
2) what you think about
3) what you DO in response to #1 and #2!
